Las Dalias Hippie Market & Cafe

We decided to travel off the beaten path while in Ibiza. We found our way to Las Dalias Hippy Market & Café, tucked into the hills of Sant Carles. The market is a bohemian’s dream—nearly 300 stalls overflowing with handmade bags, one-of-a-kind dresses, vinyl records, jewelry, and more. It’s a true treasure for the modern-day hippie, and yes—there’s something for everyone. Our boys left with t-shirts, hats, sunglasses, and jewelry, while I found two dresses I couldn’t resist. Many booths even had curtained spaces. This allowed you to try before you buy. It was a thoughtful touch that made the experience feel personal and relaxed. I would’ve bought more. However, we were only on day three of our twelve-day vacation. I needed to save room in my suitcase for other unique finds still to come.

The day was hot. However, the shaded tents kept us cool. The booth owners were as warm and welcoming as the island breeze. After wandering the stalls, we stepped into Las Dalias Café, just in front of the market. At first, Zach wasn’t sure he wanted to eat there. Then a waitress walked by with a tray of food. It made all our heads turn. Our eyes lit up, and in unison, we flagged down the hostess and grabbed a table.

What followed was a feast as eclectic as the market itself. For our appetizers we sampled the textured cauliflower with madras curry sauce and garlic shrimp croquettes. I ordered the salmon sando (sandwich) with wasabi-dill mayo and sweet-and-sour kale with a side of sweet potato fries. Brian and Alex enjoyed a roast beef sandwich with tartar sauce and crispy sweet potato. While Zachary had the Las Dalias beef burger with cheddar, bacon, and fries, and Riley nibbled on the Ibicencan potatoes with chipotle bravioli. And of course, no meal in Spain would be complete without a glass of sangria. It wasn’t just lunch—it was a continuation of the experience: global flavors served with island soul.
